We should vote on political issues, to say what we, collectively, want, so we and our representatives can know what they're accountable for. Atop this we'll build a communication platform, so representatives can report, challengers can campaign cheaply, diminishing the role of money in elections and voters can have real choices and hold officials accountable.
Currently we and our officials don't know what we want so they guess and clearly hear what special interests want. Not knowing what we want, they seek protection in groups, the parties, and what we get is arguments and gridlock. In elections, we don't know what we want so we don't know what they should have done, so we can't hold them accountable. Even if we knew, campaigns are expensive so there's little choice.
All of this could change quickly, if we voted. Try it today, on http://PeopleCount.org/reg.htm
