Train good samaritans to be Emergency Respondents in Low Income Countries

Trek Medics International, a humanitarian organization that seeks to enable emergency response systems in developing countries using BEACON, a 9-1-1 dispatching software for developing countries that wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford advanced technologies.
We have launched an Indiegogo campaign with the goal of raising $75,000 in order to allow us to hire a full-time coordinator for 6 months
of field-testing in Haiti, expand field-testing to another two countries, and
improve the software to a point where we can begin sharing it with other
mission-driven organizations by Jan. 2014.
BEACON is a viable solution for any community that lacks reliable access to emergency care and transport, yet has a consistent cellular phone signal. Generally speaking, this includes the majority of communities in low- and middle-income countries.
