Tell Debenhams and GAP to treat their workers in Bangladesh with respect

John Wood

In the wake of the Rana Plaza tragedy, in which over 1100 Bangladeshi clothing workers were killed, the garment industry has started to unite around a union backed plan to get real change on safety and job security for the people who make our clothes.
Over 30 major clothing brands have signed the new safety accord, but on the UK high street, Debenhams and GAP are prominent amongst the companies refusing to sign.
Please help lobby them by email, and see if customer-power can get them over the line to join the majority of their competitors in starting to treat their outsourced workers with more respect. No-one should have to die in making the clothes we buy.
