3 years ago, I built my first bamboo bicycle and completed a solo cycling expedition around Central Asia and Asia, covering 3,792 miles.
Riding on tough terrains during the expedition taught me a lot about riding comfort, bamboo as a raw material and bicycle design principles. I was also pleasantly surprised at how a natural material like bamboo can break language barriers to create conversations and bring people together.
It is my wish to enable everyone to enjoy the breeze in their faces as they cycle down their favourite street with their family and friends, having meaningful conversations on a natural bicycle.
The researchers at bamboobee have come out with an in-house technology, a honey infusion that revents bamboo from cracking, solving the world’s most common problem for bamboo-craft. The aesthetic value will last and therefore consumers
can appreciate the products for generations to come.
It is the world’s first nature and technology-based handcrafted bicycle.
