Hi, I'm a psychologist and I've spent a number of years researching the positive uses of the Internet. A few years ago I became fascinated by the number of people using the Internet to do good in the world. I focused my attention on them and realized that I was seeing the "cyberhero" in action. The cyberhero is the opposite of the cyberbully, instead of using digital technology to hurt others, the cyberhero uses it to help other people, animals, and the environment. To bring the cyberhero out of academia and into the mainstream I've designed a game that empowers players to become cyberheroes. They game on behalf of nonprofit organizations and go on adventures online and offline. Last year the game was selected as a winning entry in the World Future Society's Beta-Launch technology competition. This year we are campaigning to raise funds to continue its development.
