Do It

support Art on Sedgwick

Jennifer Hockema

Chicago, IL, United States
February 18, 2014

Art on Sedgwick will transform vacant storefront spaces into vibrant classrooms with innovative programs in visual and performing arts. Classes will be offered on a sliding scale, with a vision of bridging economic, racial, and social barriers in this dynamic and distinctive neighborhood. Partnering with Marshall Field Garden Apartments, the center could be housed in the vacant storefronts at 1402 and 1408 North Sedgwick. The art center would enliven the Sedgwick corridor and provide a creative and open environment for interaction between neighbors.

One of their 1st events is happening May 23, 2014: Faces of Hope

Students from four neighborhood elementary schools will create portraits capturing the diversity of our community to build momentum for a new local art center.
