Surf For Life is a non-profit that brings volunteers to impoverished coastal areas to help with hands on community development projects. (see http://magazine.good.is/articles/how-a-group-of-surfers-give-back-to-coastal-communities-around-the-world ). We recently sent a team to the Philippines to help with school restorations in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. We are all familiar with the images of disasters on TV but the devastation from this storm is difficult to fathom through a lens. Scenes of complete destruction go on for hundreds of miles. We sent some of our core staff and ambassadors to Guiuan town to put up temporary school rooms for the kids while their real school gets rebuilt. Stand by for the release of our short feature documentary, "The Next Step" coming soon.
