Stand With 30,000 Hunger-Striking California Inmates for Improved Prison Conditions

This week 30,000 inmates throughout California refused their meals—the beginnings of the largest hunger strike in the state's history. What can you do? You can express your support for these inmates and push Governor Jerry Brown to take real action to remedy the deplorable conditions, chronic overcrowding, and inhumane use of solitary confinement in prisons in the second largest state prison system. Historically, national trends in prison policy and conditions have begun in California. Take five minutes to tell California's governor that inmates deserve better.

    Why should inmates in prison get treated better than active duty Marines? They are NOT there to have fun. If possible to rehabilitate then fine-the two and three time losers need to be executed. Instead of solitary confinement execute them.

    I remember reading a quote from Mark Twain that seems to apply. Something to the effect that the white person doesn't seem to realize he is as savage as all the other savages. The same applies here: we deplore human rights violations in other countries while perpetrating them ourselves. We have to stop.
