This year's Thanksgiving in Spring hack was a blast! Over 2000 people sat at our state's longest dinner table, participated in the hip hop beat battle, watched acrobats and kids fashion show, ate dessert and marched in our first Illuminate Durham lantern parade! Check it!

So cool! Thanks for circling back and sharing. The aerial performance and beat battle looked awesome. Any learns from this year's event?

Yep- it's best to let the community run these kinds of events. They automatically bring the expertise, neighborhood pride, vision, diversity and sense of need to make ideas possible.

I'd love to know the best way to organize them and create environments for productive collaboration. I find that Design Thinking has been really helpful for me, but I'd love to know what you guys do since you seemed to execute so well.

Yeah I need to take a moment and write down best practices/guidebook. As an architect design thinking is my primary way of attacking problems. Lately what's also helped me is systems thinking.
