Share Your Leftovers on a 'Share Shelf'

Next time you go out to eat in LA and have leftovers, keep your eyes peeled for a Share Shelf, which were built on street signs around the city last weekend. Take a look at the , which includes a map showing the shelves locations. "After the food is left behind, hopefully a hungry person who might otherwise go through the trash will take the leftovers and enjoy them so they do not go to waste. Kind of like 'take a penny leave a penny', but with food," states a post on the blog.

    This is amazing. The only thing I'm concerned about is when people leave the food, do they get to share when they left it? Seems like food could go bad if it's sitting outside. Wouldn't want homeless people to get sick.
