Save the Monarch butterfly

Populations of Monarch butterflies are down to their lowest level ever recorded, due in large part to habitat loss of the one plant they lay their eggs on, Milkweed. As the Monarchs leave their winter home in Mexico and spread throughout the US, we can help ensure their survival by planting the milkweeds that are native to each of our areas in our gardens.

I have started a Thunderclap campaign called Milkweed for Mother's Day to help the spread the word. Instead of flowers, let's all give our mothers the gift of milkweed plants and/or seeds for their gardens. If this simple idea can spread across the country, we can help replace the milkweed that has been lost, and help save the Monarchs.
