I was looking for a form of motivation today on reddit.com/r/motivation and I came upon this video. If you intently listen to the message of Charlie Chaplin's 4:39s speech, you understand very quickly that this message goes beyond the confines of that little bit of time. The truth he speaks applies to mankind since the beginning of Adam to present day, and to those to come in the future. Charlie invokes his audience to rise above the oppression of modern day tyranny, in his context machinery, and in light of today being the anniversary of MLK's speech, racism. Charlie reminds us that we all have the power within us to rise above the anomalies and vices that are greed and hate to connect with one other through love and understanding. The tone of his voice dictates that although "love" and "understanding" are traditionally seen as "soft" concepts, they are actually much harder than giving into today's doctrine of hate and disunity. I encourage everyone to reflect on this video.
