This heartfelt independent film is about a 25 year old, Mitch, who is struggling with haunting memories of his past, which are affecting his present life. Mitch is an aspiring artist who creates sculptures and custom furniture from wood all with an ocean and marine life theme. He falls in love, but then slips down a path of addiction, which threatens his chances at a "normal life" with the love of his life and his unborn child.
Actor Navid Negahban, of emmy-nominated "Homeland" is cast as a liver specialist in the film. This will be the first feature film for Director Terry Ross and Screenwriter Lisa Bruhn. "Carving a Life" is expected to start production the end of October in San Diego county and stars Tyler Bruhn, screenwriters son and aspiring actor. The producers are collaborating with local film organizations and artists who will showcase their work in various scenes in the movie in exchange for credits and artwork donated for Kickstarter rewards.
