    Scored a respectable 9173, even while getting a miserable **37** score on my last pin (dropped it in central Mexico when I should have been in Brazil... argh). My most interesting map was in Thailand. An obvious language clue allowed me to get to the right country, but I tried southern Thailand based on vegetation--when actually I was in a tiny hamlet in Thailand's farthest northern reaches, Mae Hong Son. It turns out this used to be the Siberia of Thailand... when a government officer misbehaved, a remote posting in Mae Hong Son, on the border of Burma, was his punishment.
