Oh man, what a day to be working outside the city of SF! Traditionally there are also many amazing spots on Howard SOM, as well as on 2nd moving towards the ballpark.

If you're in the DC area, check out the parking spot at the corner of N. Lynn Street & Wilson Blvd in Rosslyn, Arlington, VA - just outside the district. I'll be there representing my organization, A-SPAN (, because we're fortunate enough to be getting donations from this installation. The giant shopping cart at this corner doubles as a work of art for Park(ing) Day 2012 AND a receptacle for used clothing which A-SPAN will distribute to our neighbors who are facing homelessness. Come check it out!

Hi There, Within the next week we will have many new and great fixes, including making comments more intuitive, etc..

Thx. Sounds great! Just wanted to make the note while yall were working out kinks.

    • Doris Yee

Exciting. Will you make sure to tweet @GOOD with photos of this? It sounds so damn awesome.

If you're in the Los Angeles area, visit our "GOOD Park" on Wilshire, a half-block west of S. La Jolla. Some of us will be there between 12-2:00pm having lunch. Bike or bus it - I'd love to see everyone. If you'd like to expand our park, feel free to bring more green items to do a takeover of neighboring meters.

  • Jeff Conrad

    Love this. Count me in!

Will be in the Bay Area on Friday. Anyone have any recommended stops up there for Parking Day?

    • Doris Yee

I love the additional "And Friends" sign - I might just have to rip this one off.

Should GOOD host one?! If anything, can we lug our large letters down to the street?

    • Doris Yee

Art in the "park". Remind me to bring sidewalk chalk.

How late is too late to hijack a meter? This would be a great location for a Friday all-hands...

      • Max Schorr

No not too late. GOOD should absolutely do a spot on Friday. I'll be up in the Bay Area, but not too late, and makes sense...

        • Doris Yee

It's in the works. We already scoped out the area we're hijacking - it provides shade, sunlight, and quick access from our office (with neighboring bikeracks). Do you have any plants you'd like to contribute (or perhaps a bench)? I might be making some DIY ones...

          • Max Schorr

aghghgh - so amazing - I think when you scope out the location with a picture, you should post as a Do, and tag it Los Angeles. Will think of what I might be able to contribute, but I'm headed to SF tomorrow morning...

            • Doris Yee

Well, if you see anything lying around (i.e. chair, plant) - I can pick it up tomorrow evening or Friday morning. Hope you find a "park" in San Francisco.
