You should try living on bare minimum. 100 a month.

An only try to eat what YOU buy... Don't eat nothing you purchased before.

    I like Cheesey hot dogs.

Top Ramen noodles are cheap -- I don't like them though, they remind me too much of being in jail.

Oh You will learn the fun world of Oscar Myer meats... Get chicken, Get beef... Makes no difference it all tastes the same!

Spaghetti Os are good, and cheap... They also have the highest protein percentage as being cheap food. Contains the much needed, calcium, potassium, vitamin D, Iron, Folic acid. Don't get the Generic ones... They taste like vomit.

The chances of you buying anything 100% all natural is impossible.

I hope you all learn something from this... That is actually what physically disabled, war veterans, senior citizens live with. You know the welfare people that many people like to criticize.

With so much food that is surplus and discarded, or with "expiration" dates, or excess from restaruants/deli's/supermarkets that are thrown away, these are unnecessary wastes that so many would gladly useee, and or share. Perhaps this is something that should be a "good cause" to do.

    • Hillary Newman

Agreed! Seems like there is a huge opportunity to rethink what we do with excess food (waste).

  • Zachary Slobig

I'm in. But here's my question: can we agree on a week in January or February?

    • Ben Goldhirsh

alright, zach, you pick the week. what a crime/shame that this is going on with such surplus in so many areas.

      • Zachary Slobig

Ben's in? Oh boy, this is gonna be fun. Recipe swap? I vote for first week of February. Hillary, I think picking a week might make it easier for some folks to commit?

        • Hillary Newman

Let's do it. First week of Feb works for me!

    • Hillary Newman

Yep! I don't think there should be a hard stop. Whenever you need a dose of reality, feel free to give this a try.

Do we have baby Slobig yet?!

      • Vast Shadow

What the hell is "baby Slobig" ?

You could buy a 40 and a pack of cigarettes before you could afford instant infant formula.

You can always make scalded milk, add lil bit of corn syrup to it the kid would eat it.
