Know The Power of the Passport

Tracey Friley

United States

Less than 10% of American students study abroad. Less than 40% of Americans hold a U.S. passport. Be encouraged by the team of 20 Passport Party Project Advisory Board Members as we mentor a group of 10 American tw/een girls, get them their very first passports, teach them the value of traveling with heart, and then send them on a journey to get their very first passport stamps in the richly diverse Guadeloupe Islands in a private villa provided by HomeAway. Then do something wonderful and find a young person who doesn't have a passport and wants to travel the world. Encourage her. Empower her. And then help send her on her way. #travelrocks #powerofthepassport #generationstudyabroad

I love the idea of traveling to other areas and want to pass it onto my daughter. So far she has been to a few places in America, but now we are living in Greece, where she is getting educated and learning about the struggles the people face here and how that impacts everyone locally and globally. I hope that as she grows into a young woman, she will use the knowledge she is gaining to help make a difference in the world.

Wow, Stella. She might not know it yet (as I don't know how old your daughter is), but her experience in Greece will set the stage for her entire life. From exercising her empathy muscle to learning another language, I'm betting she will grow into that young woman who makes a difference while serving as an example to others. How wonderful. Good on you, Mom, for showing her the way. =) #globalcitizen #powerofthepassport #travelrocks

Travel is education. The stimulation travel affords enhances creativity and productivity. The world of business and social relations is global. Benefit!

      Wouldn't THAT be awesome? Kristin
What a big difference it would make for every child to experience travel and the shift it brings about. #good

It has been a thrill to watch the Passport Party in its growth. I hope the future travelers realized what a blessing they've been given (the zest for travel). Carry on Tracey Friley and all the other ladies mentioned above.

Thank you for your comment Aqueelah, and thank you for following along. It has (and continues) to be quite the journey. #carryingon
