Fighting childhood cancer with love comes to life this Saturday. Will you be a part of it?
Pablove Shutterbugs stands at the heart of our programs at The Pablove Foundation. The program pairs kids living with cancer with professional photographers, such as Piper Ferguson and Chapman Baehler. The kids learn the basics — how to frame an image, how to tell a story, portraits, shadows — but the effect photography has on them is anything but basic. It turns out that a camera in the hands of a child whose life has been upended by cancer and its crushing treatment schedule produces incredible joy and passion.
Come and see the kids' photos to witness this for yourself on Saturday at our annual Pablove Shutterbugs Gallery Show.
Students' photography will be hung alongside major works by Herb Ritts, Michael Muller, Mark Pellington, and many more. KCRW's Chris Douridas and KROQ's Kat Corbett will spin the tunes. As if you needed another bonus, the event is free. I'll be there. Will you?
