help support inner city students on their quest to study science in Costa Rica!

I teach in a community that is overlooked by most. I teach in an area that claims lives that have barely begun. Despite, very real obstacles my students come to school everyday determined because they know that education is the key to making their dreams a reality. Our schools are not equitable in America but I work tirelessly everyday to ensure that my students are having a transformational education. I wanted to offer them an opportunity to for one week, submerge themselves in an entirely new culture, and environment- a science field study to Costa Rica. For many of my students they have never left Northern California, never traveled on an airplane, never imagined having the opportunity to climb into the rainforest to see the the biodiversity I taught them about, explore an active volcano, or go white-water rafting through the jungle! Yet the process of raising the money has also shown the students that people believe in them- people they've never met- which is beautiful to see.
