- Banos, Tungurahua, Ecuador

Banos is a gorgeous little town perched on the side of an active volcano in Ecuador - it attracts over 1 million tourists a year for its healing hot pools, spa treatments and adventure sports. Nearby there are small villages in incredible landscapes with some of the most bio diverse fauna and flora in the world. This is a land of volcanoes and rivers and jungles and plains - still teeming with incredible creatures.
It is estimated that unless tourists start to realise the incredible beauty of the neighboring areas and visit - much of it will be sold to oil companies, hydro electric and big agriculture in the next 3 years destroying the natural wonder that it is.
I believe that we as the human race deserve to be able to visit places like this long into the future and we can't afford to lose the thousands of fascinating endangered species in the area.
