Help Hollywood Design Its "Central Park"

Shauna Nep

July 19, 2013

What would the Central Park of Hollywood look like? Friends of the Hollywood Central Park is dedicated to creating a 44-acre street-level park over the Hollywood Freeway in a densely populated and park-poor area of the city, and they've launched a new facet of their website to encourage everyone to tap their inner architect and create their own dream park. My dream park has a food forest, an outdoor kitchen, and a long table where everyone can sit down together to eat. How about you? Start designing here:

This is great! It would be cool if the park was functional and served the community in more ways just providing space to play. What if we planted edible plants, installed outdoor workout machines, built an amphitheater, created a place for weekly or daily farmers markets, etc? What else should this park include?

Pop-up events would be great. If they designated a space for that, with pre-made booths, that would be awesome.
