I didn't buy the seedlings and grow it from scratch, but I've been keeping alive a basil plant from Trader Joe's for more than a month now! Very proud...since the last time I tried taking care of a basil plant, it withered within a week. I give this one tons of sunlight and water, and it seems to be growing so fast that I keep having to think of creative ways to use the leaves!
In one of the photos is a little snack I came up with based on what was in my fridge. It's sausage and feta on a basil leaf. Simple and yummy!
I love my patio basil! I'm growing purple basil, too -- pics soon, I'm embarrassed by it now because it needs repotting badly :) My plants already gave me one big batch of pesto and they're working on another now!
