- Pick a meeting point to start out at, and then just go...
What is it about being on vacation that awakens our willingness to explore? Why does it seem to take foreign soil to grant ourselves permission to wander, without any particular destination in mind?
While unfamiliar locales might embolden this natural curiosity, the truth is, the desire to see with the fresh eyes of a tourist isn't a function of inspiration only granted via passport stamp; it's a decision - one that's available to us at every moment.
That's why I created LASOW - the LA Society of Wanderers - and encourage you to do the same. We meet in different areas around LA and set out in any random direction, spending 1-2 hours turning new corners, visiting shops and buildings we wouldn't otherwise, and encountering a panoply of characters along the way. Then we get lunch. It's good times.
Why not decide to see your city anew? Create your own wandering society, and look *again* at what surrounds you. You'll be surprised at what this little shift of intention can do..
