Do It

Explore what art means to us.

David Richmond

I think creativity is the key to unlocking all human potential - do you agree? Why not explore these questions...
What part does art play in your life?
Would you like to be more creative?
Do we all have creative potential?
Can we all be artists?
What would be different if you decided to be an artist?
What would happen if we treated everyone as an artist?
Do let me know what you think or send your response to creative

Hi David. Interesting questions you bring up. Are you composing the answers into a blog or book? Wondering how you plan to feature them. My answers:

What part does art play in your life?
It's a part of the day to day- if you consider writing an art.

Would you like to be more creative? Yes.

Do we all have creative potential?
Yes- it's how we structure our lives, who we associate with, and what we do with our day to day that can either inspire us to be creative or not.

    Can we all be artists?
To some degree, yes- everyone has a unique perspective - it's just the way they execute it that is either admired by the public or not. Art is so subjective.

What would be different if you decided to be an artist?
I'd have a less organized lifestyle and would probably work very late nights.

What would happen if we treated everyone as an artist?
I think in a way, that has already happened with the influx of the internet. Many people feel worthy of being featured for some form of artistry, even if it's not particularly good.

Hi Alessandra, thanks for getting involved.

I'm working on putting together a 'practical guide to creative capability development' - a set of inspiring resources to help people engage with our individual and collective creative potential.

The guide will centre around a series of creative challenges that people can use for their own creative development and to collaborate with others. Our responses to these challenges will be used to provide examples, case studies and tools to inspire further creative development.

It's all part of plans to create a universal Creative Development Programme (CDP) that any individual and group can use to foster their own long-term creative development whilst supporting others to do the same.

The CDP is a self-directed programme for each individual to use as they see fit, people can get involved by simply taking a creative challenge, or they can use it to develop more complex plans and projects - the more people contribute the more they, and others, will benefit.

Thus, the CDP could be simply described as 'people supporting each other to take creative challenges' or we can see it as 'an individual and collective commitment to creative capability development'.

Hope this makes sense, do let me know if you've any queries and thanks again for your input, I like what you have to say, it's given me more to think about - do keep writing!
