When we started Alabama Chai, we did so with a few thoughts in mind; organic, sustainable, mission minded. Our first goal was to partner with a small family dairy, which is what we found in Working Cows Dairy in South Alabama. Their neighboring farm had just shut their doors after 30-years in the dairy business.

Because of the artificial pricing structure of milk in the U.S., Working Cows Dairy needed to solve their own problems by distributing their own milk; either that or invest heavily in farm growth, thereby decreasing the quality of their milk. They chose to improve their quality by becoming Alabama's first certified organic dairy. Their cows are grass-fed, and they use low temperatures when pasteurizing. This protects healthy cultures and flavor.

Alabama Chai would like to take this amazing beverage on the market, giving the family dairy farm a boost.
