"I never realized the environmental impact cosmetics had on our health," says Think Dirty® founder Lily Tse. Discovering many ingredients were possibly linked to breast cancer, Lily was shocked to learn that the cosmetics industry was not regulated like the food and drug sectors. And like most women, she didn't want to use a lipgloss or shampoo that could be described as 'toxic' or cancer-causing. Recognising there was no real tool out there for consumers to find information easily, Lily developed the Think Dirty® app, an easy way to learn about the potentially toxic ingredients in our cosmetics and personal care products. It’s an independent source that allows us to compare products as we shop. Just scan the barcode and Think Dirty® will give you easy-to-understand info on the product, its ingredients, and cleaner options. Lily aspires to set off a consumer revolution "for safer cosmetics by learning one ingredient at a time, changing to cleaner options, one product at a time."
