America is facing crisis in access to youth sports. In the lives of many young people, sports is the one force that provides a motivation to achieve, teaches critical life lessons, and offers a more positive life path forward. Tragically, over $3.5B has been cut over the past several years from youth sports budgets across the country, and in many cases teams are disappearing altogether.
The Sports Matter initiative was formed as a way to create disproportional impact on an issue of massive scale. It harnesses the power of crowdfunding, along with up to $2M in matching grants, to rally communities to support youth sports teams that face dire circumstances.
The site is currently live with 187 teams -- each with compelling stories of the impact their sport is having on their youth. The teams have until May 23rd to reach their funding goals and receive a matching grant from the Foundation. Please donate any help them continue challenging, supporting, and inspiring youth.
