Be the first to get in

Do It

Cycle for peace

March 12, 2014

Today Do The Green Thing are proud to publish a poster from one of the world’s most distinctive and imaginative illustrators, Sir Quentin Blake. His charming image and message inspires us to find a greener, more peaceful existence by enjoying the freedom of two wheels rather than four.

U.S. Olympic cyclist John Howard once famously said “The bicycle is a curious vehicle. Its passenger is its engine.” Pause for a moment to ponder what a perfect invention the bike is - all that power without all that pollution.

Cycling is a completely self sufficient way of getting from A to B, and that's what makes it so wonderful. Add to that the liberating feel of gliding through the air, the wind in your hair, your coat tailing behind you, the breeze cooling your skin. Compared to the experience of cramping in a car that spews out more carbon than it can chew, cycling is a joy. So, hop on your bike and cycle for peace.
