Alessandra Rizzotti

We're helping push projects forward into getting fully crowdfunded, and we're sharing all the projects here. If you want to fund innovative ideas but you don’t know what causes you care about yet, or maybe you’re still searching, consider this a guide of the goodness you can get behind. Take a look at GOOD's curated Kickstarter page, which we'll be updating regularly at, and check back every Saturday for a round up of our favorite projects from the crowdfunding world.

I'm trying to raise funding for, and connect individuals with, smaller organizations that are often overlooked by selling environmentally friendly screen-printed clothing that spotlights these organizations! Our first two organizations have actually been featured in Push for Good already, Kitechild and Lava Mae!

    • Alessandra Rizzotti

Thanks for reaching out Chelsea. Let me see if I can connect you with Ben, who runs our Business hub. Is there anything in particular you'd like to share about how you're connecting with smaller orgs? We love posts that offer some tips/wisdom. Email me at [alessandra]at[goodinc]dot[com] to connect.

ARED has developed a solar-powered, mobile phone charging kiosk that can be towed behind a bicycle, a major mode of transportation in Rwanda. ARED is meeting a tremendous need: access to electricity to charge cell phones. The solution is clean energy, grass roots entrepreneurs, and mobility. The problem is that while around 40% of households have cell phones but are without access to electricity. In Rwanda, as in most of sub-Saharan Africa, cell phones have become ubiquitous and essential to business. ARED has designed and funded Phase I, which has five kiosks going, with five small operators (franchisees) pulling and stationing them around the cities and rural areas. We are raising money to fund 20 more redesigned and improved kiosks. Based on my research, done to support this planning last year, there is a huge market that extends across Africa to tens of millions of potential customers.
ARED is raising $30,000 on the site below and I hope you will consider supporting our campaign.

Thanks for sharing this as a link on! Will definitely find a way to feature it.

Hi Harbinger! Have you considered posting this as a DO? Would love to feature it, but it would be great if you filled our your profile and told us why you think this project is important for your community.

    • Alessandra Rizzotti

Hey John! Have you considered posting this as a DO? I know that you have 4 days left, but perhaps explaining how you're connected to the project, and why you want to tell this story would be a great way to gain support from the community!

We have just launched our project at kickstarter - valta remote energy management system. Valta is designed to help users to be aware of their energy usage pattern and to empower them to eliminate energy waste. These users' actions will lead to changes in usage pattern for the long term and adoption of more sustainable lifestyle.
Please check it out and back us:

There are other platforms for crowdfunding - IndieGoGo and StartSomeGood, in particular, are great hosts for fantastic campaigns for great causes!

    • Alessandra Rizzotti

Hi Sara! We actually do highlight projects from those platforms, and if you have any projects you want to highlight, let me know. We let people know about our curated page on Kickstarter because we don't have curated pages on those other platforms.

      • Alessandra Rizzotti

Check out and you'll notice projects from GlobalGiving, Indiegogo, and Start Some Good. I'll make an effort to look through those platforms more often and make the distribution more equal.

Oh, that's great! Well, I am personally fond of the BOGO Bowl projects on and :-)
