Ciclavia: 80,000-person Community Bike Ride in Los Angeles

It's my favorite "holiday" in Los Angeles. That's right - Ciclavia. An event inspired by a massive community bike ride in Bogota, Ciclavia attracts kids, parents, hipsters, and bike enthusiasts to downtown LA, where almost 10 miles will be closed off for those pedaling or walking. Next event will be Sunday, October 7th, 2012 with a new and bigger route.

        Thanks Doris! Yeah - I'm 5'1", so a bike for a small person/large child usually works.

    Only a week away! Disappointed that the September 23 CicLAvia to the Sea had to be cancelled due to logistical details but looking forward to a rescheduled west side event soon.
