celebrate something we enjoy by making it possible for someone without it to enjoy it as well

Do It

We enjoy clean water -so support Water Mission International to provide clean water for others. We enjoy good vacations, so invite friends from the city to come vacation in our home. We have central air-conditioning, so bought window air conditioners for a family suffering in the heat.

Two examples of celebrating things we enjoy by making them available to others

Our son was born with a bent foot, and received excellent medical care so his foot was straightened and he learned to walk on time. When we learned of an organization treating under served children with club-foot, we contributed enough for treatment for several children.

Another example: our son traveled to Uganda for several months after college, and came back with a story about a friend his age who wanted to attend medical school but had no financial support. We have been very thankful for our own educations and those of our children, as well as for the health care we've enjoyed. We were stunned to learn that for just $600 a year we could pay tuition and fees for medical school in Uganda. The student emailed us his grades, expenses, and updates on his education, and we wired money twice a year until he completed his studies. He is now providing medical care to villages in his province.
