A new project has just launched on kickstarter with a bit of a different story - one that is goes back to basics.

The founders of Alice & Whittles (two humanitarian workers) left their jobs to work with artisans in marginalized communities to produce a line of espadrille shoes - made with respect.

By blending the skills and traditions of artisans in France and India, their business model takes an ethical approach to producing the classically loved shoe - ensuring that everyone who has a hand in making the product, benefits.
