    Currently working for an NGO in Nicaragua, perspective of the people I work with is essential. The work is inspiring, the country is beautiful, and the people are kind. Every once in awhile, I confront the ugly intertwined history the United States and Nicaragua have. It is tough to work through as an organization with good intentions, but reading memoirs and personal histories from the time period certainly help to understand the perspectives of other people, especially older generations.
