Become an Active Member of a School Community

Meghann Estrada

You can become an active member of your local school community by attending regular meetings, supporting fundraisers and contributing to special initiatives like music and arts programs. You can also write your city council member to tell them the importance of your school and invite them to speak at a meeting.

I am a proud supporter of Peacock Acres and their after school education program for at risk and foster youth. I love getting an opportunity to support their fundraisers and go on field trips with the kids. This summer I will be chaperoning a beach clean up initiative as part of their "environmental" week at summer camp. Although these youth live 20 miles from the beach, it will be the first time for a handful of them to see the ocean!
