Human trafficking has been likened to modern-day slavery and is the process of people profiting from the control and exploitation of other people.
New York State criminalized sex trafficking and labor trafficking in 2007. However, there are significant gaps, loopholes and implementation problems in our legislative framework. The Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act (TVPJA) addresses these problems.
We need your help to pass this legislation. Contact your representatives through social media, email, letter writing campaigns, a visit to their office, or a phone call!
