The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is offering a free course as a part of its Massive Open Online Course. The course is entitled Social Media for Journalists: The Basics.
The course will review how social media can benefit journalism, aiming to provide journalists, media practitioners, and the general public with knowledge about finding and distributing news and information. Students will be introduced to common platforms, techniques, and ethical considerations.
The five-week course will begin February 3rd and end March 9th. Five experts with practical experience in newsrooms in the US will teach the course including Ryan Thornburg, Craig Silverman, Sharif Durhams, Daniel Victor, and Amanda Zamora.
