Do It

Always wear helmets when we ride our bikes

I was in a major bike crash a few weeks ago after an absent minded pedestrian walked out in front of me on a very traffic heavy road in LA. In avoiding him, I crashed head first into the pavement, was knocked unconscious, and have major (but recoverable) arm nerve damage. Without the helmet I would have had done much more damage to myself - the paramedics were amazed that I wasn't in worse shape.
The real impact though is on your family and community that you will need to take care of you when you recover. There is no way to explain the debt of gratitude you will feel and time you will owe to the people who help you to get dressed, eat, bathe, and eventually get back to work.

Has it ever crossed your mind how much you will need your family and community when / if you get injured? If you aren't wearing a helmet when you ride, then it probably hasn't.

If you aren't going to wear a helmet for yourself - do it for the people that love and depend on you.
